WASHINGTON, DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA — The Obamas have this elderly woman thinking differently about her life. As she turns 110, she sets a new plan in motion. Talk about “higher perspective.”
Her name is Virginia McLaurin. You might remember her from a particular 2016 meet and greet with President Barack and First Lady Michelle at the White House. Profoundly, their meeting impacts McLaurin’s life to this day.
According to WJLA-7, Virginia clearly recalls her moment with the former First Family. The source quotes her as follows.
“I met a black president and a black wife. That’s me. I was so scared because I was raised in the South. I didn’t know what to do. I didn’t think I would ever, ever be able to get in the White House.”
Reportedly, McLaurin was 106 at the time of her White House visit. But, she will forever remember it.
