Faith Evans is a sangin’ somebody as we all know, but we also know that Faith is a fighting somebody…just ask Lil’ Kim. As most of us have heard by now, Lil Kim and Faith had an ongoing beef and an infamous fist fight over the man they were both in love with, Faith’s deceased hubby, rapper, Notorious B.I.G.
Well, on the 20th anniversary of her late husband, Biggie’s, death (March 9, 2017), Faith let the world know – in an interview with DJ Kay Slay on Shade 45 – that she and Lil Kim’s beef was WAY worse than we all knew. Not only did Faith discuss the beef, she also detailed the beef between she and Biggie, Mary J. Blige, and get this…Faith revealed that her very first boyfriend was a rapper, but he was NOT B.I.G.! Faith’s 1st Boyfriend Was Redman?
Faith said that her first boyfriend was rapper, Redman. They dated when she was in the 9th grade and he was just a church drummer at his mother’s church. she said they used to trade their removable gold front teeth. His had an ‘R’ on it and Faith proudly rocked it around school. Gotta love puppy love, right?
What About The So-Called Beef With Mary J. Blige?
The beef between she and Mary was imaginary because she said she never knew anything about it. In fact, at one point they were really cool and used to hang out because they both are close with a mutual friend, Misa Hylton-Brim (celeb’ fashion stylist and P. Diddy’s son’s mother).
Why Biggie Sliced Up ALL Of Her Clothes!
Faith says that she and Mary J were so cool at one point, that Mary even bought her a fly Coogi dress once. Faith said she cherished the hell outta that dress because ‘the Mary J.’ bought it. However, Biggie cut that dress ALL the way up during an argument after Faith had hidden his packed luggage he needed for a plane he was about to catch.
In the interview, Faith laughed and said she’d hid it and wouldn’t tell him where it was because she was trying to make him miss his flight on purpose, LOL. Biggie retaliated by cutting up not just her Coogi dress, but every particle of clothing Faith had in her closet.
What Faith Said About Her Altercations With Lil’ Kim
They Had MULTIPLE Fist Fights
Faith also said that she and Lil Kim didn’t just have that ONE fight we knew about, but that they MULTIPLE fist fights (not just the one we saw in the movie, Notorious) after Faith busted Kim and Biggie in the hotel. Turns out that it seems there was a time when they damn near came to blows on sight, whenever they came into close contact with each other! Faith said that 4’11” Kim is “feisty” though and was able to hang with her as they traded blows. Faith said she was “fresh out the bricks” and Kim was hood too, so that’s how they settled their disputes back then.
Lil’ Kim Refused To Speak To Faith For YEARS
Faith said that she was over her Lil Kim-Biggie beef YEARS ago and tried to do a song with Kim, however Kim was far from over it. More recently, when Kim was on Dancing With The Stars, Faith ran into her and tried to give her congrats, but Kim still wasn’t over their 90’s beef and Faith said she acted like “she didn’t know me.” But Faith says she understands that everyone has to get to that space of forgiveness at their own pace.
Mended Fences
Lil Kim and Faith have finally made amends and are releasing a duet love song about Biggie on Faith and Biggie’s upcoming duets album, The King & I. Faith said never in a million years did she think she and Kim would be at this space, nor be releasing a record together about the love of BOTH of their lives- BIGGIE. But she said that she kept it real with Kim and told her that she wants her to be as honest as possible on the song, about how much she loved B.I.G. and the pain they may have went through during the time he was dating her and married to Faith at the same time. Faith says she knows Biggie would be very proud of both of them for squashing their beef once and for all.
