At 37 years old, he’s still doing his thing in the acting world. He’s currently starring in the new sci-fi series, “The Haunted.” As far as we know, DeVaughn is single has no kids as of yet, and he’s very close to his legendary parents.

DEBBIE ALLEN’S HIS STEPMOM & HUSBAND/NBA LEGEND, NORMAN NIXON IS HIS DAD

So, all this time has passed, and most of us never knew we were watching actress/director/choreographer, Debbie Allen’s, step-son, and her NBA hubby, Norman Nixon’s, kid, DeVaughn Nixon,  on the big screen with Whitney back in the day.

Debbie’s been DeVaughn’s stepmom ever since he was 1 year old in 1984, when she married his dad, Norm.  As a result of their lengthy union, DeVaughn is very close to both his biological mom (who isn’t a celeb and stays out of the public eye) and Debbie. We’re sure Debbie and Norman are very proud of DeVaughn, who looks like a spitting image of his Pops by the way.

FUN FACTS ABOUT DEVAUGHN NIXON

As reported by Deadline, Devaughn Nixon will be starring as his father, Norm Nixon, in an upcoming series about the NBA legends successful run with the Lakers a.k.a. the Showtime Lakers:

‘The Untitled Showtime Lakers Project is based on Jeff Pearlman’s nonfiction book Showtime: Magic, Kareem, Riley, and the Los Angeles Lakers Dynasty of the 1980s.’

DeVaughn witnessed Whitney and Bobby B. falling in love back in the day and paid homage to both of them on Instagram in a now deleted post:

DeVaughn Nixon: “This video says it all! Lol…witnessed when these two first fell in love! Regardless of what anyone says they had a true bond! I miss her!”

He looooves his ‘aunt’ Phylicia (Debbie Allen’s sis’)….

Phylicia Rashad with her nephew, DeVaughn Allen, who starred as the kid in “The Bodyguard” film with Whitney Houston

He’s still close to his former uncle-in-law, who he refers to as his ‘uncle,’ Ahmad Rashad (Phylicia Rashad’s ex-husband), and sometimes hangs out with his uncle’s good friend, Michael Jordan.

Well damn, we must say that DeVaughn Nixon comes from quite a talented blended family. With an NBA legend for a dad, an acting/dancing/directing legend for a stepmother, a legendary actress for a step-aunt (Phylicia Rashad) and an NFL legend for an ex-uncle-in-law (Ahmad Rashad), he had no choice but to soak up some of that greatness and make it his own. Good to see the brotha doing well.
