Grace Jones’s Famous Pastor Brother Clarified Rumors Of His Past Relationship With Lisa Raye

The differences between music legend, Grace Jones (73), and her pastor brother couldn’t be more clear. She’s an eclectic, free-spirited model-turned singer, who’s posed nude throughout her career. While her brother is a bible-totin’ bishop with a megachurch and congregation of thousands.

Grace’s brother is none other than Bishop/reality star, Noel Jones (71), and his sibling ain’t the only odd match in his life…so was his rumored relationship with actress, Lisa Raye (53).

I don’t know about y’all, but when I think of Lisa Raye, I can’t help but think of my favorite character portrayed by her — yep, you guessed it — “Diamond” from The Player’s Club! That was her most popular role, and the sexy-exotic-dancer character still resonates with it’s audience today.

Outside of her “Diamond” days, Lisa Raye has always maintained a sexy vixen persona…even today she’s still got it as you can see in the recent photo below…

So, of course the past dating rumors about her and the holy-ghost-shoutin’ Bishop Jones turned more than a few heads.

The rumors first surfaced around 2011-ish, that the two were so serious, they were considering marriage. It wasn’t until 2013, that Bishop Jones spoke out publicly regarding Lisa Raye and he gave an interesting response to their dating rumors…

Bishop Jones Did Not Run From The Controversy About Him & Lisa Ray

As Jones was prepping for the then new season of the reality show, Preachers of L.A., in 2013, he was questioned about the longstanding rumors regarding himself and Lisa Raye having a thang going on, like Billy Paul and “Mrs. Jones.” Initially, Bishop Jones dodged the question, by giving an indirect answer about how he’s no scrub and that as a single man, he does date:

“The whole thing is that, I am very articulate. I have a little money, I’m mot the ugliest man in the world. I mean, somebody would wanna just be blind to feel like I don’t go out with some woman, sometimes. You follow? And I’m not gay, even though they may say, LOL,” Jones joked…

When the interviewer reiterated the question about Lisa Raye, Bishop Jones then made the status of their prior reported relationship clear – it was simply ‘friendly’…so he claimed:

“I don’t date Lisa Raye, we’re just very good friends.”

Of course, the way Jones answered the question failed to convince fans that they did NOT have a thang going on.

Many didn’t believe that there was absolutely no romantic connection between Lisa and Bishop Jones. What also further fueled the rumors back then, is the fact that Lisa Raye started attending Bishop Jones’s City of Refuge L.A. services, and reportedly sat in a ‘reserved’ seating area, according to witnesses.

The Players Club actress reportedly once confirmed that she was attending Jones’ church, but she also denied that she was dating him.

“Let me put an end to this…People have us dating, [engaged], and running off to get married and I’m not doing ANY of the above. I attend his [Bishop Jones] church because I’ve been in search of a church home. I made a brief stop at his church and I will be continuing my journey. And by the way, when I do get engaged, I will let y’all know…deal?”

Lisa was allegedly supposed to star in Oxygen’s Preachers of L.A. reality series with Bishop Jones, but apparently, that didn’t pan out.
