The legendary Gladys Knight and Ron Winans Chicken & Waffles restaurant has just flunked it’s health inspection after having previously scoring so high on their last inspection. Gladys and the late gospel singer, Ron Winan’s, restaurant is located in the ATL and their soul food is off the chain, so hopefully Gladys and her team team won’t fail the next inspection and have to close their doors. Gladys Knight’s Chicken and Waffles restaurant, located on Peachtree Street in Atlanta, earned a score of 56 following a Feb. 18 inspection in which Fulton County inspectors found 15 violations.
Some of the deficiencies discovered during the inspection included a cooler with a missing door, heavy debris on ceilings and vents and violations related to hand-washing, which the health department says is a risk factor for foodborne illness.
Last April, the chic ATL soul food restaurant received a 94 in its previous health inspection. According to reports from Fulton County, the popular restaurant is due for another inspection within the next 10 days.
The health department doesn’t play when it comes to a restaurant’s hygiene, so we’re pretty sure that Gladys will do everything she can to whip her soul food joint back into tip top shape within the next 10 days. We’ll be keeping our fingers crossed and we wish them luck.
