Although we lost beloved actor, Tommy Mykal Ford, in 2016, we want to share some uplifting fun facts about him and his character, “Tommy,” on the “Martin” that brought back great memories…
MYSTERY OF “TOMMY’S” JOB ON “MARTIN” FINALLY REVEALED
As we posted previously, it turns out that “Tommy” really did have a job on “Martin” after all, just like he’d been trying to tell “Pam,” “Martin,” “Gina,” and “Cole” for years on the Martin show.
On the show, “Tommy’s” job was always elusive as hell and nobody could ever figure out exactly what it was that he did for a living, but Tisha Campbell-Martin a.k.a. “Gina” revealed to Bossip what “Tommy’s” real job actually was, after years of keeping “Martin” show fans in suspense.
“TOMMY’S” REAL JOB ON “MARTIN” REVEALED!
“Tommy’s” job on “Martin,” was as a counselor at The Boys & Girls Club! Here is what Tisha said about “Tommy’s” role via Vibe:
“‘Tommy’ really did have a job, I’ll give you a hint,” she said before diving into the revelation. “The woman I was gonna fight, she was Martin’s teacher; Beverly Johnson, in that episode that’s the first time you hear about Tommy’s job. So Tommy talks about him being in the Boys & Girls Club. He was a counselor at the Boys & Girls Club. That’s what he did for a living.”
Campbell-Martin also stated that Tommy disliked the fact that his character wasn’t developing.
“‘No one knows what I do for a job, they keep asking me what I do!’” Campbell-Martin describes. “So then they started putting in the script that Tommy has NO job.”
And there ya’ have it family, another Old School fun fact for our enquiring minds.
