We’ve had this classic video of Nona Gaye singing the “Star Spangled Banner” with her Dad, Marvin, in our Old School stash from quite some time now. They took the national anthem to a whole ‘nother level! Nothing but soul in this video and no disrespect to Idina Menzel and her performance of “The Star Spangled Banner” at the Super Bowl today, but I would have taken Marvin and Nona’s version ANY day. It was definitely a beautiful thing seeing Nona immortalizing her Pops through music. This kind of reminds you of Natalie Cole’s duet with her Dad.
