On the heels of the industry-shaking sex scandals involving Harvey Weinstein and actor Kevin Spacey, Corey Feldman is once again speaking out about child predators in Hollywood. He made reports to police back in 1993, but Feldman said that authorities only wanted information on the late King of Pop Michael Jackson. The “Goonies” actor is certain that they were barking up the wrong tree.
He Knows A Pedophile When He Sees One
In 1993, Jackson was accused of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old boy. Feldman, who was once preyed upon by an industry figure when he was a rising star in film, know knows a pedophile when he sees one. Jackson never fit the bill.
“I know the difference between pedophiles and not pedophiles because I’ve been molested,” Feldman told authorities over two decades ago.
Feldman is determined to get his story out. During a recent sit-down with Matt Lauer on the Today show, he vowed to produce a feature film where he will expose every entertainment executive, actor, manager, and anyone else he knows who have preyed on children.
A $10 Million Project?
The former child star is trying to raise a whopping $10 million for the project. The budget will cover expenses associated with making the film as well as the legal team and around-the-clock security that he will need to protect himself from these very powerful people until the project is completed.
Lauer asked Feldman why he wouldn’t just go to the police again. The actor said that the statute of limitations had long passed and he couldn’t trust them to follow through on his accusations.
“If anyone wants to go back to 1993 when I was interviewed by the Santa Barbara Police Department, I sat down and I gave them the names,” Feldman told Lauer. “They’re on record. They have all of this information.”
Michael Was The Big Brother He Never Had
Feldman has vowed to get the truth out come hell or high water. Not only does he plan to put a stop to the abuse of children, he wants to clear Michael’s name once and for all. In a CNN interview from 2013, Feldman told Piers Morgan exactly what their relationship was.
“He was the big brother I never had quite honestly,” Feldman told Morgan. “He was everything to me as a kid. He taught me about loving animals, vegetarianism, animal rights, environmental issues, caring about your fans, how to treat your fans…”
Feldman went on to talk about how they bonded over the fact that, as children, they both had to get up and go to work everyday. He and Michael were robbed of their childhoods. The same year, Feldman told Huff Post Live that Michael was a victim of a witch hunt.
“He was not that guy,” he said. “He was a guy who was so innocent, so kind of sheltered, you couldn’t even swear around him. You couldn’t talk about drugs. You couldn’t talk about nude women. You couldn’t talk about sex. You couldn’t talk about anything because he was a very religious man.”
If Feldman’s movie is made, Hollywood will never be the same. He will expose a culture that may finally hold who he sees as the real bad guys accountable. And that would be a very good thing.
