We, Old Schoolers, mostly remember actor, Dondre Whitfield, as “Vanessa Huxtable’s” boyfriend, “Robert,” on “The Cosby Show”, but he’s now had plenty more memorable roles since then, with his most recent ones being in the popular drama series, “Queen Sugar,” on Oprah’s OWN network called “Queen Sugar;” and previously on BET’s prior comedy series, “Real Husbands of Hollywood,” starring Kevin Hart. So now that the brotha is a 51 year old man with a long list of acting credits, let’s all try to refer to him as Dondre – and not “Robert” – for a change (I joke, I joke…I kid, I kid).
Anywho, Dondre and actress-director, Salli Richardson, 53, (best known for her role in “Low Down Dirty Shame”), have been happily married for 19 years, and have two adorable children who look like Salli/Dondre mini-me’s. Check them out below…
MEET DONDRE’S & SALLI’S SON AND DAUGHTER
Salli shared the below photo of herself with she and Dondre’s 16 year old daughter, Parker Whitfield, on National Daughter Day, captioning it with:
“The love of my life #nationaldaughterday [Parker Whitfield] you make me proud.”
Parker was also a kid model in 2013, when she modeled for Nordstrom’s Mia Chica kid’s clothing line.
Salli and Dondre’s son, Dre Whitfield, celebrated his 12th birthday on January 25, 2021. Since Salli was away working that day, she made sure she was still there in spirit. The actress shared the following photo online of her family celebrating, as she had her proud-mommy moment virtually.
Here’s what Salli wrote about having to celebrate their son’s 12th b-day virtually day:
“Thank God for technology. I’m like a mom from the future who is an AI. I couldn’t be at my baby’s 12th birthday in the flesh but we figured something out. I’m the computer on the bottom. Lol I can’t tell you how much I love this boy. Both of these children fill me with overwhelming pride. #workingmom #womandirector #familyfirst”
And as you can see, Dre likes chillin’ in Central Park with his Pops…
Happily In Love…And ‘Like’

Parker and Dre are clearly the loves of their parents’ lives. And just like their Pops’ former TV show, they’re fortunate to be growing up in a household with two parents who not only love each other, but actually LIKE each other a lot too – much like “Heathcliff” and “Claire” on “The Cosby Show.” C’mon now Old Schoolers, we all know there’s a big difference between loving the one you’re with versus loving AND liking the one you’re with. We’ve been around the block enough to know that sometimes we can love our partners, but they work on our last damn nerve all the time, LOL.
Dondre and Salli Whitfield don’t seem to have that problem though, and they often post lovey dovey videos on social media about to prove it, just like their dancing video up top. Gotta love it.
