Kelly Price’s sister sadly passed away in 2014 and she said that’s what gave her the urge to put a lot of things into perspective and re-prioritize her life…even if that meant doing something she probably never thought she would do.

The Old School saying, ‘nothing lasts forever,” is appropriate right about now for Kelly and her now ex-husband of 23 years, Jeffrey Rolle. They were together through thick and thin, but unfortunately, there were issues and compromises that Kelly no longer wanted to overlook after her sister’s death and this is what she said to AlwaysAList:

“After the untimely death of my sister [in 2014], it weighed on me heavily that this was something we needed to do. I ultimately made the decision to live the best life I can. I ended things because I didn’t want to compromise what true happiness was anymore. There are no hard feelings and I will love Jeff until the day I die!”

Kelly and Jeffery have 2 adult children together –  son, Jeffrey Rolle Jr. and daughter, Jonia Rolle, so at least they didn’t have to worry about the headache of sorting out child visitations, custody, and child support, but they did have one elephant in the room that will be a big adjustment for both of them- management. Jeffrey was Kelly’s manager for years, but after they divorced, Jeffrey and Kelly ended their business relationship as well.

Overall, it’s sad their marriage ended after they were able to get through so many rough times together, but just like Kelly Price’s song says, it sounds like she was just “Tired.”
