Big balling like no other, rapper Drake revealed that he has his own plane today on InstagramDrake has partnered with Canadian company Cargojet, who said in a press release Friday that they were “thrilled” to bring together two regional corporations with individual proven successes.
“Supporting home grown businesses has always been a top priority of mine, so when an opportunity came up to get involved with a great Canadian company I was honored to do so,” Drake, a longtime Cargojet champion, said.
Billboards’ most awarded artist of all-time ranked 4th ($47 million) on Forbes’ list of Hip-Hop Cash Kings in 2018, trailing only Kendrick Lamar, Diddy and Jay-Z respectively.
The exterior of the plane is painted pale blue and bears the rapper’s OVO owl logo and prayer hands logo, as well as the words “Air Drake.” Inside, plush couches and chairs, tables, a giant flat-screen TV and custom striped carpeting are shown. Also seen in the clip, Ajay Virmani, president & CEO of Cargojet Airways, who Drake credits with making the deal happen.
While the craft itself seemingly marks a fresh build, the general “Air Drake” concept has its roots in a 2010 Virgin America stunt of the same name. Per an ancient Billboard report at the time, Virgin temporarily turned an Airbus A320 into an “Air Drake” party co-hosted by Richard Branson and Arnold Schwarzenegger.
