David Lewis went from singing about being “Secret Lovers” to this…a career many of his fans would have never called. Although his former group, Atlantic Starr, had us vibin’ back in the day to hits like, “When Love Calls,” “Touch A 4-Leaf Clover,” “Send For Me,” and “Always,” all things come to an end.

What David Lewis & His Wife Are Doing Now

David, one of Atlantic Starr’s former lead singers, and his wife, Marian Lewis, have been running a ministry for over 20 years. Yep, you read that right, the former R&B sex symbol is officially a preaching man!

In fact, David left Atlantic Starr in 1994 to return to his Christian roots. He and Marian, are the co-founders of “Into The Light Ministries,” a Christ centered non-denominational ministry. They travel all over the world, sharing their love for the one whom as they put it,”removed them from that world and brought them out of darkness into His marvelous light.”

Mrs. Lewis was no stranger to getting around. She was already a world-traveler as a print and runway model for the “Ford” modeling agency in New York, she worked for some of the world’s top designers, as well as hosting a national ad campaign for “Oil of Olay.”

Pretty sure most of us would agree that it sure would be nice to have that classic Atlantic Starr sound on the airwaves today, especially with some of the stuff being labeled as ‘music’ now. It would be even better if Atlantic Starr made a comeback with ALL of their members reunited. But hey, guess that’s just wishful thinking on our part.

Now that the group’s broken up and David is devoted to his religious faith, who are we to judge anyone’s soul and salvation? It’s never be a bad thing to follow one’s heart. David did what he felt he needed to do- leave R&B and return to his Gospel roots. So it seems that unfortunately for us, Atlantic Starr fans, the best has already come to pass. In other words, it’s a done dada on any hopes of an Atlantic Starr reunion. We wish them all well though.
