Now that we’ve compared the two icons, it can’t go unnoticed the points Bill Cosby talked about in a 1994 interview. Could the things he said 21 years ago be relevant to what’s happening to him today? Don’t know, but the points are still interesting and make you go “hmmm” nonetheless.
So here’s what happened in 1992 – 1994:
1. In 1992 Norman Brokaw, the chief executive of the William Morris Agency and Mr. Cosby’s personal agent of many decades made it known that Bill Cosby was in talks with NBC’s president to buy NBC after rumors swirled that the network was for sale due to years of low ratings. Eventually they denied him.
2. At that time, Mr. Brokaw said this of NBC’s Cosby Show: “The show is approaching $1 billion in syndication.” That is beyond successful and Cosby had and still has a large stake in those earnings.
Fast forward two years later to this 1994 interview and this is what Cosby said, regarding how the powers-that-be attempt to break celebrities down, whom they feel are a threat to their business:
