launched a fund raising campaign on the crowd-funding site, Kickstarter, to record their first new album in more than 12 years.
The group hoped to raise $150,000 in 30 days – they did it in fewer than three – and hit $430,255 by Thursday, the campaign’s final day. Wow!
Here is the heartfelt Facebook message Chilli post thanking TLC fans for their contributions:

“When we started this kickstarter campaign we had no idea how AMAZING our fans would be in helping us reach our goal and BEYOND! I am blown away by the love we’ve received from fans and other artists that we have so much respect and love for. I want everyone to know that EVERY pledge was a blessing regardless of the amount. You’ve allowed us to once again follow our dreams and create an album that we can be proud to share with our fans. Words can’t express how thankful I am and how blessed I feel to be a part of this group. TLC Meant2Be!” – Chilli

That’s a beautiful thing that TLC’s fans did for them and it’s clear to see that their fans are yearning for music from a female group nowadays. Whatever happened to R&B groups anyway? Earth, Wind & Fire, The Gap Band, The Supremes, New Edition- we’ve always had them…until now, but I digress. We’ll revisit that topic in a later post.
