Born Ermias Asghedom, the father of two, was among three people shot on Sunday afternoon at around 3.20pm.
On Sunday night, LA Police Commissioner Steve Soboroff tweeted that he and LAPD Chief Michel Moore were due to meet with Hussle and Roc Nation representatives to discuss gang violence today.
He wrote at 8.43pm: “We (@LAPDChiefMoore and I ) were meeting , at the request of @NipseyHussle with him and @rocnation tomorrow at 4pm to talk about ways he could help stop gang violence and help us help kids. I’m so very sad.”

Nipsey was tragically shot multiple times and was pronounced dead after being rushed to hospital. Eyewitnesses say they saw a black man fleeing in a vehicle after the shooting.
The world of hip hop has been heartbroken by the news, with an outpouring of shock and bewilderment emerging minute by minute on social media.
Drake posted an image of Hussle on Instagram with the caption: “My whole energy is just at a low right now hearing this… You were having the best run.”
