Keith Washington comes from the era of which there were still many distinctive voice textures in the music game and his was one of them, but that seems to be really rare on the radio nowadays. Keith reminds us of a time when fans actually expected to get quality music from artists who competed with each other by NOT sounding like the next artist, but by sounding as different from one another as they possibly could…much unlike today, where many singers on the radio are either trying to be the next Beyonce’ or Chris Brown; and we can’t forget to mention the singers who are using auto-tune and as result, they’re sounding incredibly more similar to the Alvin and the Chipmunks cartoon characters. Some singers are just abusing that auto-tune assistance and forgetting that once upon a time in the early 90’s and before, singers like Keith Washington, had to actually pull from everything in them to push those notes out with no help…and on key, might I add.
Anyways…looking forward to seeing what’s in store next for Keith Washington…maybe we’ll get another classic slow jam from him in the near future.
