According to ABC News Brown failed to appear at the Paris meeting, though his lawyer was in attendance. This was a bad move on Brown’s part because the accuser’s lawyer is celebrity attorney Gloria Allred. And after Brown decided against showing up she expressed her disappointment to the media. Allred stated since he was a No-Show Brown “has thumbed his nose at and shown disrespect for the French legal system”. She continued “His failure to appear today is very unfair to my client, but I assure him that my client will not be deterred from seeking justice,”. But Brown’s lawyer Chiche tells a different story. He claims that Brown has every intention of rescheduling the meeting because the original date didn’t work for him, adding “Chris Brown doesn’t want to escape his responsibilities”. One last piece of this puzzle is that none of the three accused men arrived to the meeting in Paris, primarily because it wasn’t mandatory that they attend. It was, however, a necessary step in the investigation process. The woman’s French lawyer Jean-Marc Descoubes had this to say about Brown’s failure to attend.
“If he does not show up a second time … we will ask the prosecutor to put in place more coercive measures, a warrant to get him to come, because the confrontation requested by our client is key to this case, a sexual abuse case,”
As of now Brown has not responded to Allred’s statements.
