During the interview Ciara also admitted that she grew to understand the kind of love she wanted when she thought about how her father loves her mother. That love had always laid the foundation for what she wanted out of a relationship. Another factor was the son she shares with Future, five-year-old Future Jr., whom she knew deserved the absolute best out of life.
“I had to take a couple of times to figure it out, but my dad’s love is what saved me in all my situations, because it would get to a point where I was like, my dad wouldn’t do this to my mom. This can’t be love,” she explained. “I’ve always had the same goal of wanting to be loved a certain way, but I was just walking in the wrong direction.”
