According to NYMag’s report, there have been about 14-20 sexual assault allegations that have come out against Donald Trump in the past few weeks. He, like Bill Cosby, is in a position of power, wealth and fame and therefore there is always that extra level of scrutiny that must be given in cases such as their’s, in order to accurately separate any motives and false claims from the any authentic ones.
Now that we are in the last stretch of the Presidential campaign, everything about Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump is being heavily dissected and understandably so.
There’s one thing that stands out like a sore thumb in all of this though- the many sexual assault allegations- including two rape allegations according to NYMag: one from Trump’s first wife, Ivanka Trump, and the other from a woman who claimed to have been 13 at the time she said Trump allegedly raped her.
I’m not sure if there has been any previous presidential candidate to have that many sex claims against as they ran for President. But as you can see, these allegations are just as strong as the allegations against Cosby, which brings us to a controversial, yet practical question that actor, Carl Anthony Payne, posted on his Instagram page by way of this Bill Cosby meme which read:
“You tell me you cancelled my shows for allegations but you let Trump run for president?”
Carl, whom we best know as ‘Cockroach’ on “The Cosby Show” and as ‘Cole’ on “Martin,” captioned the photo “#DoubleStandard”.
After posting the meme, Carl got a lot of feedback on IG from people voicing the same frustrations:
dd_223Yup: #doublestandard smh shame 😕
ptownfinestprinceofbadboy76: Damn you Trump I hope you lose the debate.
sweetashoney973: They have one set of rules for black man and one set of rules for white man this is not even call chest
mb_bigmomma: Trump need to go to jail 😖😖
mellowbridges: Oh my God you are so right!
sweetashoney973: Shows what kind of country we live in in so sad
keystrokesbykimberly: Welcome to Black America
unforgettablegem: Mind boggling!
happy2bmechie: #BringBackCosbyShows
Aside from the sexual assault allegations against Trump, the now infamous “Access Hollywood tape of him talking about ‘grabbing women by the pu$$y’ has tainted his image that much more.

ILOSM family the question is, in the midst of the most important election in our country, do you think Donald Trump should be receiving the same type of public and professional backlash as Bill Cosby? Or since Trump, like Cosby, is innocent unless proven guilty, the sex allegations should continue to be brushed to the side for the duration of the Presidential campaign? If you choose the latter option, then that just might mean Carl Anthony Payne’s ‘#DoubleStandard’ comment is pretty accurate I suppose. Hmmmm…
Either way, I think it’s a much needed, thought-provoking discussion.
