Congrats: Eddie Murphy Finally Gets Married Time To His Longtime Girlfriend

Eddie Murphy

Eddie Murphy can officially say, “I’s married nah!” for a second time, after recently jumpin’ the broom. The 63-year-old comedic icon recently exchanged vows with his longtime love (and mother to his 9th child and his 10th child), Paige Butcher, in a private ceremony held in Anguilla. The joyous occasion marked the second marriage for Murphy and a new beginning for the couple.

As reported by People, the wedding, attended by his close family and friends, took place on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, and the two seemed happy as could be as they exchanged their vows. And while this is Murphy’s second trip down the aisle, it is the first for his Australian-model-wife, Paige Butcher.

Eddie and Paige reportedly began dating in 2012. The lovebirds first got engaged in September 2018 and share two precious mini-me’s, 8-year-old Izzy Oona and 5-year-old Max Charles. Izzy –Eddie’s 9th child– was born on May 3, 2016, followed by the arrival of their son, Max –Eddie’s 10th child– on November 30, 2018, just two months after their engagement.

While Paige Butcher prefers to keep a low profile, she has openly shared her admiration for new hubby’s romantic side. At the 2020 Golden Globes red carpet, she revealed, “He actually says that kind of stuff all the time. He’s very, very sweet and romantic.”

During an award event, when Eddie Murphy was honored with the Cecil B. DeMille Award, he thanked Paige and all of his children for their unwavering love and support, and also expressed his gratitude for the strong bond they share as a fam.’

On a side note…whenever the topic of ‘Eddie Murphy and marriage’ comes up, it’s pretty difficult to forget about that epic joke he told in “Raw”– where he shared his fears of getting married because he didn’t want to be threatened by a wife’s demands for  “HALF!” if they were to divorce. That joke had folks crackin’ up back in the day…but hopefully for Eddie and Paige, they won’t have to consider that as an option. And besides, I’m pretty sure his prenup’ is game-tight anyways.

Congrats to the happy couple. ❤️
