In terms of their little mini-me’s name, Da Brat revealed:
“His name had been True Legend Harris-Dupart but now that we’ve met him we are tempted to name him PERFECT.” However, they are sticking with the name, True.
It’s been a long time coming for Da Brat (49) and Kaleidoscope Haircare founder, Jessica Dupart (41). After getting married in 2022, Da Brat confessed her longing for having a child, although she was apprehensive she would have success in that area:
Da Brat told PEOPLE how she wanted “a little me” with Harris-Dupart. “Something special from the both of us that we can share and raise and love unconditionally,” she said.
“I was like, nothing’s gonna come out of me!” Harris-Dupart, who is already a mother of three, was able to convince her otherwise. “We had a little tug-o-war in the beginning… but I felt like she should have the experience,” says Da Brat’s wife. “She is so nurturing.”
Prior to the birth of True, Da Brat unfortunately experienced a miscarriage with she and her wife’s first pregnancy:
“I had never been so excited about something that I didn’t even know I wanted,” Da Brat said. “I fell in love with the idea and then it was all snatched away from me. Luckily, we still had quite a few of her eggs left.”
Thankfully, Da Brat and Judy didn’t give up on their quest to have their precious blessing added to their family. Wishing the happy new parents all the best and lookin’ forward to seeing True grow in the years to come!
