AJC also reports that Williams recently appeared on Jemele Hill’s podcast Jemele Hill is Unbothered to discuss yet another legal problem taking place in his life, only this time he’s the one that’s being wronged. According to Williams while the U.S. Department of Justice was investigating a possible embezzlement of his funds it was discovered that his employees were the ones skimming his cash and taking a chunk for themselves. And that chunk was worth $59 million.
“In my search for who was the enemy that was causing all these things to repeatedly happen to me over and over again when they shouldn’t, we uncovered that it was actually my people that was involved,” Williams told Hill during the interview. “We didn’t really know that until the Department of Justice started indicting these people for the embezzlement of $59 million from Katt Williams.”
After the discovery was made Williams immediately fired the staff members, and they retaliated by attempting to blackmail Williams. Adding further insult to injury Williams had to prove that he wasn’t in on the embezzlement as well.
“They thought I had found some way to sequester the funds until they actually dug in and realized ‘why would I be money laundering my own money,’ Williams said. “It’s been a lot, and a lot of it you can’t really talk about. It’s ongoing.”
No word as to whether or not Williams has gotten the money that was stolen back or not. More than likely he will make sure he gets it back because he doesn’t play when it comes to his cash.
