Diddy has broken his silence and issued a heartfelt apology after a video resurfaced showing him physically assaulting his ex-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura. The video (below), which was dated March 5, 2016, depicts a disgusting scene where Diddy can be seen grabbing, shoving, dragging, and kicking Cassie inside a hallway of the now-closed Intercontinental Hotel in Central City, L.A..
On Sunday morning, Diddy had what some would call a “come-to-Jesus-moment” when he took to Instagram to share a video message, expressing his remorse:
“I’m truly sorry,” the somber 54-year-old captioned the video. “It’s so difficult to reflect on the darkest times in your life, but sometimes you got to do that. I was f****d up — I hit rock bottom — but I make no excuses.”
In the video, Diddy acknowledges the gravity of his actions and takes full responsibility:
“My behavior on that video is inexcusable. I take full responsibility for my actions in that video. I was disgusted then when I did it. I’m disgusted now,” he confesses.
Diddy also reveals that he sought professional help and underwent therapy and rehabilitation to address his behavior.
Ending his apology with a plea for mercy and a commitment to personal growth, Diddy shared:
“I had to ask God for his mercy and grace. I’m so sorry. But I’m committed to be a better man each and every day. I’m not asking for forgiveness. I’m truly sorry.”

This recent revelation comes after CNN obtained and released the video footage, which corresponds to an incident highlighted in Cassie’s explosive 35-page lawsuit against Diddy. The lawsuit included allegations of graphic and disturbing nature, including a claim that Diddy raped her in 2018. It was reported that the two reached a settlement shortly after the lawsuit was filed.
The resurfacing of the video has elicited strong reactions from the public and legal experts. Cassie’s lawyer, Douglas H. Wigdor, responded to the video, emphasizing the gravity of the situation. “The gut-wrenching video has only further confirmed the disturbing and predatory behavior of Mr. Combs,” he stated. He also commends Cassie for her bravery in coming forward.
Support for Cassie has also poured in, including from her husband, Alex Fine, who took to social media to defend his wife and raise awareness about domestic violence. Fine’s message expressed empathy for victims and emphasized the need for a safer and more equal world.
As of now, the Los Angeles District Attorney has released a statement explaining that they are unable to file charges due to the incident occurring beyond the timeline for prosecution. However, Diddy still faces five other civil lawsuits, adding to the legal challenges he is currently facing.
The release of this video has shed a disturbing light on Diddy’s past behavior and serves as a stark reminder of the importance of addressing and condemning domestic violence. It also highlights the need for continued support for victims and the eradication of such harmful behavior from our society.
Sending love and much respect to Cassie Ventura at this time. Her bravery to finally come forward –which was likely a very tough decision for her– is highly commendable.
On a side note, hopefully Diddy has been actually working on himself, as he claims…and hopefully, in time, he will emerge a far better human. And you never know…maybe in due time IF he is eventually truly reformed, he will find it in his heart to help others suffering from domestic violence at the hands of people like himself. Though that will never take away the possibly lifelong psychological/mental pain and suffering he’s inflicted on Cassie, that would be the ultimate redemption/transformation that the world — and especially Diddy’s daughters and sons — need to witness in him.
No one should suffer in silence, and it is crucial that we stand up against violence and support those affected. If you or someone you know is experiencing domestic violence, please reach out to the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-7233.
