Taking a break from the show will allow Williams and her husband, Kevin Hunter, to sort things out privately without the pressures of having to show up daily for work. Upon her return to the show, Williams gushed about her husband saying, “He is my best friend, my lover. He’s all this and he’s all that.” Marriages are not easy. And don’t ask me about mine until you see [my wedding ring] gone — it ain’t going anywhere, not in this lifetime.”
Confessions about Addiction
Weeks after Wendy talked about her marriage, the talk show host also opened up about her substance addiction and the struggles that come with sobriety.
She shared with her audience that she had been living in a sober house for some time, “You know I’ve had a struggle with cocaine in my past. I never went to a place to get the treatment. I don’t know how, except God was sitting on my shoulder and I just stopped.” Her own addiction inspired her and her husband to start a charity for other individuals that struggle with addiction.
Her husband spoke briefly about her struggles and explained that it’s a family process and they are all moving forward.
