Six years ago Dre and record producer Jimmy Iovine gave the University of Southern California a huge $70million donation.
The money was used to create the USC Jimmy Iovine and Andre Young Academy for arts and technology. They also have a building named after them on the USC campus.
“The vision and generosity of Jimmy Iovine and Andre Young will profoundly influence the way all of us perceive and experience artistic media,” C. L. Max Nikiasthe, who was the USC president at the time, said when the donation was made.
Fifty People Have Been Charged
Earlier this month in an operation dubbed “Operation Varsity Blues” fifty people were charged in the largest college admissions cheating scandal in US history.
Among those arrested were Full House actress Lori Loughlin and her designer husband Mossimo Giannulli.
They have been accused of paying $500,000 to get their two daughters into USC as fake rowing recruits.
Their daughters Olivia Jade, 19, and Isabella, 20, have since dropped out of college in the wake of the embarrassing scandal.
