Eva Marcille Tells How Missy Elliott Reacted When Lesbian Rumors About Them Surfaced On RHOA

Posted On : March 19, 2018

Another day, another drama for a celebrity to deal with…even when they weren’t even present for said drama. That would be the case for rapper/singer, Missy Elliott. The “Work It” hitmaker became the topic of lesbian dating rumors in a “Real Housewives of Atlanta” episode a few weeks ago and today, she’s STILL part of that discussion.

What Missy & Eva Are Being Accused Of

A few weeks ago, “RHOA’s,” Shamea Morton, accused “RHOA” newcomer/model, Eva Marcille, of having had a lesbian relationship with Missy Elliott. Shamea asked Eva if her current boyfriend/celebrity attorney, Michael Sterling, was ‘okay with her dating women.’ Eva was offended by Shamea’s lesbian accusation, but Shamea then reignited the rumors that surfaced a while back, claiming that Eva and Missy were a couple for quite some time. Eva denied the claims.

In a “RHOA After Show” video clip posted on Bravo’s website, Eva further clapped back at Shamea’s lesbian claims:

Eva- “Let’s be clear, she doesn’t know me from Adam so she claims that this is her way of getting to know me. Like this is way too personal to try to just get to know someone…I’ve never dated women. I’ve never dated Missy. I’ve never dated any of these people. They’re my friends. They are friends that I’ve had in this business for a very long time.”

Eva Marcille Details “Friendship” With Missy Elliott

Then on a recent interview on Bravo’s “Watch What Happens Live” with Andy Cohen, Eva explained the details of her and Missy’s friendship, to further attempt to clear the air:

“Missy and I had the same management and because I was new to the city, we hung out all the time. People saw us together and thought that we might be dating, so that was that,” said Eva.

How Missy Reacts To Being Fake ‘Outed’ On RHOA

One thing’s for sure, Eva is definitely making rounds to shut down this lesbian rumor. The other day, she did an interview with US Weekly and was asked about the ‘Missy-lesbian-relationship’ rumor yet again. That’s when Eva finally revealed what the ever-so-private, Missy Elliot’s reaction was to the accusations…

Via USWeekly: When asked if she warned Missy about the story resurfacing on the show, Eva responded, “No, I didn’t because, I mean, because Missy is so non-confrontational, she’s not that girl.”

“But I did talk to her after ‘Watch What Happens Live’ and she, first she sends me the emoji of the hand on the head,” she explained. “It was hilarious. And I was like I know, so petty. And she’s like, ‘You know what girl, you held your own. I appreciate it, you know what I mean, the way you held me down. ‘I was like, ‘Look, I’m not gonna create a space for you to have to defend yourself against this girl … You’re not on the show. It’s not fair to you,’ which is kind of why I was really pissed off.”

“Like, why would you do this to my friend?” Eva added. “But furthermore, like I said, my irritation really is the fact that there’s like this negative connotation or idea around homosexuality. That is to me the more frustrating thing. Like, what is the issue?”

ILOSM let’s be real, ever since Missy Elliott burst onto the music scene in the 90’s, there have been many lesbian rumors and assumptions about her. However, given the fact that she’s never been seen with, nor romantically linked to any man throughout her entire career, would it really be a shock IF she actually is a lesbian? More importantly, is it anyone’s business IF Missy is, or is NOT a lesbian? ‘Hell nah’ to both questions. The bottom line is that Missy is a helluva singer/rapper/songwriter/producer, whose graced us with some “Supa-dupa Fly” hits throughout the years. Her musical gifts are what we, here at ILoveOldSchoolMusic, are grateful for. As far as Eva Marcille, the same applies. So people, let’s let those ladies live their lives and be great.

About I Love Old School Music

We salute the incredible people and beautiful memories of that "old school". We’re not saying that every artist and every facet of the soul era was perfect, but the artists’ contributions to soul music and the old school memories of that particular time are PRICELESS.
