When it comes to tax woes, celebrities are usually targeted by ‘Uncle Sam’ and now Dallas Austin is the latest celebrity on the government’s list. According to The Jasmine Brand, the hit music producer has reportedly been accused of owing back taxes to the tune of $100,000. Now, reports have surfaced with the breakdown of the taxes he allegedly owes.

Taxes For Multiple Years:

It has been reported that ‘Uncle Sam’ is coming after Dallas Austin for taxes allegedly owed from 2015 and 2016. With both years combined, the Department of Internal Revenue has calculated that Dallas owes a total of $102,290.01. For 2015, the platinum-selling producer owes $45,798.33 and another $56,491.68 for 2016. The original amount he owed was only $69K for both tax years, but due to the penalties and interest he’s facing for the principal amount, the debt has increased by more than $30,000.

The latest reports about the tax debt from 2015 and 2016 follows a previous report about the federal tax lien Dallas Austin was hit with back in March. At the time, the document filed in the state of Georgia indicated that an amount of $250,997.27 was owed in unpaid taxes for 2016, alone.

Music and Side Hustles:

The latest news follows tons of reports about Dallas Austin’s success and side hustles over the years. We all know he’s had monumental success in the music industry producing Platinum-selling singles and albums that have topped the Billboard charts and earned numerous accolades. The Rowdy Records label owner has produced records for top artists like Monica, TLC, Sammie, Another Bad Creation, Boyz II Men, Gwen Stefani, Pink, and Madonna. At the age of 21, Dallas Austin was takin’ the music industry by storm producing some of the biggest hits from the 90s.

Named top R&B producer by Billboard magazine for 1991, Austin has created No. 1 hits for groups not old enough to vote. First he showed a penchant for coupling catchy lyrics with even catchier samples by writing hit songs for the all-boy band Another Bad Creation. At 19, Austin had written and produced eight of the 10 songs on “Cooleyhighharmony,” Boyz II Men’s multiplatinum debut album. More recently, he helped propel Atlanta’s TLC to the top of the charts with one of last summer’s most infectious hits, “Ain’t 2 Proud 2 Beg.” – LA Times

In addition to owning Rowdy Records, he currently owns and operates the Atlanta-based recording studio DARP (Dallas Austin Recording Projects). So, even though Dallas isn’t in the public eye as much as he used to be, he’s still makin’ big money.

However, music isn’t the only way Dallas Austin he generates revenue. Over the years, he has branched out from music with other viable business ventures. Back in 2016, he made headlines when it was announced that he was renting his million-dollar home for $20,000 a month. For those who don’t know, Dallas Austin has a custom built, ultra-modern futuristic home that was featured on MTV Cribs years ago.

Dallas Austin, who has worked with the likes of Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson, and Madonna, is renting his 5,578-square-foot mansion at 5335 Northside Drive for $20,000 a month for a minimum term of six months.

Dallas Austin has not yet released a statement in response to the reports. In many cases, celebrities opt to silently deal with these types of issues. Hopefully, Dallas Austin works things out with Uncle Sam. Best of luck to Dallas Austin.
