Two days before Heatwave co-founder, Keith Wilder, is laid to rest on Monday, November 6th, his family has revealed that they have many question about the details surrounding his death.

The 70’s soul group, Heatwave, is responsible for gracing us with soul classics, including jams like “Always & Forever,” “Boogie Nights,” “The Star of the Story,” “Ain’t No Half Steppin'” and more. As co-founders of the group, Keith, along with his late brother, Johnnie Wilder Jr., were very vital members of Heatwave.

As we previously reported, Keith passed away on Sunday, October 29, 2017. At the time of his death announcement, very few details were given by his family, other than he’d died suddenly.

Now, his family has provided more details about Keith Wilder’s health and the events leading up to his death, that caught them completely off guard. The reason his wife, kids, and other family members are so surprised about his passing, is because they say he was the perfect picture of health and filled “with energy” in the days prior to his death…actually up until his last hours. Keith’s family tells TMZ … he was dancing, laughing and in great spirits from Thursday through Saturday last week while his niece was in town for her birthday. We’re told they hit up a concert Friday night and went out for a late dinner Saturday night … and everything seemed fine. The family says Keith woke up Sunday morning like normal but took a nap later on … and didn’t wake up. They’re now waiting for autopsy results.
We’re told Wilder had a massive stroke 4 years ago that left him with limited mobility on his right side … but he had regained his health. His wife says despite his passing, the fam’s blessed they got 4 extra years with him because the stroke was so bad.

Keith’s wife of 40 years, Lisa Wilder, has also provided details of his funeral and is asking that in honor of Keith’s memory, that fans make donations to the children’s cause that was very near and dear to Keith’s heart:
