When fans think of classic sitcom re-runs, they usually assume the actors are still gettin’ paid substantially, since all of the episodes are still airing. However, that isn’t always the case. Where Darius McCrary is concerned, fans are convinced the struggle is definitely real. In fact, with his latest child support ruling, fans are wondering if he’s making any money at all. The former Family Matters star who portrayed Eddie Winslow is turnin’ heads everywhere right now and it’s all because of the almost comical amount he’s just been ordered to pay in child support.
Really Tho?:
According to The Blast, Darius McCrary has managed to slip through the child support cracks only havin’ to pay his ex-wife Tammy Brawner a measly $29.00 a month for his two-year-old daughter Zoey. Yes, you read that right: $29.00; and not $29.00 a week, but $29.00 a month. So, how did he manage to receive such a lenient ruling? Apparently, the issue centers around his inability to find work. It has been reported that the acting game just isn’t workin’ in Darius’ favor right now. In fact, he claims he’s only bringin’ in$462.00 a month which is why his baby mama just has to take what he can give. Because of Darius’ situation, the judge reportedly granted this “low-income adjustment.”
He previously told the court that he was having a hard time finding work and wasn’t even able to afford the required visitation monitor to see his child. Brawner and McCrary have previously filed restraining orders against each other in what has turned out to be a volatile breakup. Darius McCrary’s required $29 per month payment is based off his reported income of $462 per month. The county noted it applied a “low-income adjustment” to cut him a break.
In addition to the $29.00 monthly payments, Darius is also required to pay half of his daughter’s health and medical costs. Then if that’s not enough of a break, Darius also had the opportunity to “oppose” the court order, which was scheduled to begin June 1.
Fans’ React:
Needless to say, the interesting court order has turned heads on social media. As expected, fans everywhere are draggin’ the man although the judge has given him a break because he’s havin’ a hard time. Why? Because most people insist there’s somethin’ Darius can do other than act. In fact, quite a few people agree less than $500 in monthly income for a grown man seems unacceptable.

Darius Claps Back:
Amid all the drama and backlash over the court ruling, according to The YBF, Darius has somethin’ to say. Ironically, on Father’s Day, Darius took to Twitter with a response to the criticism. In a nutshell, he thinks everyone should mind their business. He tweeted, “EVEN w/a gag order 4rm an honorable judge these stories re: $$ keep finding the media #happyfathersday god bless people who value court order vs child’s best interest #savage on is that enough? We can do SO much more 4 our kids w/out the courts & media n #familymatters #loveuZech”

A Troubled Past:
The latest court ruling follows a string of reports about Darius and Tammy’s marriage. For those who don’t know, Darius was repeatedly accused of physically abusing his ex-wife. Prior to this court ruling, last February, Darius responded to the child support battle claiming Tammy was only lookin’ to hit his pockets, according to TMZ. At the time, Darius’ attorney Glen T. Jonas Tammy “is no victim … she is a predator motivated by a desperate desire to extort money out of Mr. McCrary while trying to create an advantage in an impending divorce and custody battle.”
If his goal was to make sure she didn’t succeed, he’s definitely done his job. Child support payments probably don’t get lower than $29 a month.
