O.J. Simpson is out here cuttin’ up online, with his first introduction to Twitter and everybody and their mommas are talking about it. The controversial NFL Hall of Famer has just joined Twitter and posted his first video, which is also controversial. Why? Well, it has everything to do with what he said and the timing of when he said it…literally.
Why Everybody’s Talking ‘Bout O.J.’s 1st Tweet…
First up, let’s talk about what O.J. said in his Twitter video debut. Though his video debut was pretty short, his message made many go, ‘Whaaaat???’
In his Twitter video message to fans, O.J. vowed to “get even.” Get even with whom though, remains unknown:
“Hey Twitter world, this is yours truly. This should be a lot of fun…I got a little getting even to do,” O.J. excitedly exclaimed.

By itself, O.J.’s “get even” statement isn’t as eye-catching, as it is once fans soon realized that he shared his first Tweet on day after the 25th anniversary of the murders of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend, Ron Goldman. As y’all already know, O.J. was tried and acquitted for their murders in 1995, but many still believe he committed the crimes. In fact, both his supporters and opposers won’t let him forget about their suspicions, which they made very clear in the comments…
Fans Roast O.J.’s Oddly Timed Tweet…
It only took a hot second for fans to start roasting O.J.’s ill-timed Twitter video all up n’ down his timeline. Peep a sample of what folks are saying below…

Hey OJ. Big Fan. I’m in need of a pair of gloves. What’s your favorite place to purchase them from?

Given O.J.’s timing and controversial history…he should’ve seen this coming. Only time will tell if he’ll rethink his decision to join social media.
