Following Sex Cult Scandal, R. Kelly Now Accused Of Giving Woman STD

R. Kelly has had his share of drama over the past several years. From rumors about underage love affairs and jaw-dropping sex tapes; to allegations of him running a sex cult with countless, disturbingly eerie statements from alleged victims, R. Kelly has some of his fans giving him the side eye. Now, he’s facing yet another allegation. According to The Root, a woman is now accusing R. Kelly of giving her an STD.

A New Accuser & STD Claims:

The alleged victim’s Philadelphia-based attorney, Lee Merritt, is now speaking out about the situation. In a new legal filing, Merritt shared details about the timeline of the victim’s alleged relationship with Kelly, claiming that it didn’t end until February of this year (2018). So, unlike many of the other allegations brought against Kellz, the latest accusations appear to be the result of a reportedly recent occurrence. Several claims of criminal misconduct against R. Kelly, are also described in the complaint. Merritt went on to offer a detailed description of what he refers to as R. Kelly’s abusive behavior:

“As Kelly’s predatory, controlling and abusive behavior evolved, our client abruptly ended their relationship in February of 2018,” Merritt noted in the filing. During the relationship, “our client was the victim of several forms of criminal misconduct by Kelly, including, but not limited to, unlawful restraint, furnishing alcohol and illegal drugs to a minor, and aggravated assault (via the referenced intentional STD infection),” according to the statement from Merritt. “These offenses occurred while our client was being groomed to join Kelly’s sex cult. – Chicago Tribune

Another Sex Cult Claim:

Like many of R. Kelly’s previous victims, Merritt also claims his client was being groomed and she was gradually introduced to the “cult” lifestyle that several other women have recently spoken publicly about:

“Kelly gradually introduced the cult to our client over the course of their relationship, culminating with an explanation that she would have to sign a contract and offer collateral information about herself and her family for Kelly’s protection,” the attorney’s statement continues.

Serious Denial:

While R. Kelly has yet to release a statement about the latest accusation, he has previously spoken out about other recent allegations, denying all claims against him. With the type of financial backing R. Kelly has, he’s more than likely going to hire a serious team of legal eagles in hopes to clear his name once again. After the previous allegations were made public, R. Kelly’s attorney released a statement in his defense.

In a previous statement, released to the LA Times, R. Kelly’s attorney -ironically a female- adamantly denied the claims brought against her client:

“Mr. Robert Kelly is both alarmed and disturbed at the recent revelations attributed to him,” his attorney, Linda S. Mensch, said in a statement obtained by The Times. “Mr. Kelly unequivocally denies such allegations and will work diligently and forcibly to pursue his accusers and clear his name.”

Despite the celebrity power and money that many fans believe R. Kelly uses to avoid trouble with the law, Timothy Savage -the father of one of Kelly’s reported ‘girlfriends,’ Jocelyn Savage- has released a statement, commending the alleged victims who have come forward:

“Other girls have said it to us but they weren’t willing to speak up,” Savage told ‘The Post’. “We need a witness to speak up. I hope this opens up some answers. We felt from the beginning that the reason he’s holding the girls is he has some kind of STD that he couldn’t cure.”

It’s unclear how R. Kelly will respond to this latest situation, but it’s probably safe to assume that either he, or his attorney, will be speaking out about this soon. Kellz better pray that he’s as lucky as Usher, because if he’s not, he could be facing the possibility of serious charges and time behind bars.
