For A Second Time Diddy Gets Denied Bail After Making Major Offers, Judge Explains Why

Diddy’s fight for freedom has hit another major roadblock on Wednesday (Sept. 18, 2024). In his second attempt to secure bail, U.S. District Judge Andrew Carter shut him down.

On Wednesday, Judge Carter explained the reason he’s denying him bail for a second time is because “the government has proven the defendant is a danger. The bail package is insufficient even on risk of flight.” During the hearing, the prosecution raised concerns about alleged past incidents involving coercion, blackmail, and even violence. The judge ruled that the $50 million bail package proposed by Diddy, which included surrendering his Miami mansion and passports, wasn’t enough to ease concerns about potential witness intimidation or flight risk.

Prosecutors also discussed allegations tied to controversial “freak off parties” hosted by Diddy, where incriminating activities were said to have occurred, further solidifying the judge’s stance. Despite Diddy’s legal team offering significant restrictions on his movement — including Diddy promising to limit contact with any female visitors to his home other than family members and the mothers of his children, as well as having the security company for his home report a the log of visitors to the government every night, the offer to sell his plane in an attempt to further prove to the court that he has no intention on being a flight risk, and having zero contact with witnesses, grand jury members, and anyone in his inner circle who is a part of the pending investigation into him– the judge wasn’t convinced.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Emily Johnson highlighted some past disturbing behavior linked to Diddy, including an altercation with Cassie Ventura, which was caught on surveillance video in 2016. The prosecution is concerned about Diddy’s history of violent behavior and his potential influence over witnesses, citing their claim that he’s recently contacted his former Dirty Money artist, Kaleena Harper, 128 times after learning that her name was mentioned in a lawsuit against him by Dawn Richards, his other former Dirty Money artist.

According to Johnson’s claims, Diddy allegedly filmed people having sex on camera, with a partial intent to use it as blackmail. She also claims that witnesses believe Diddy drugged them and ultimately used the videos to extort them. Diddy has denied all of those claims.

As it stands, Diddy will remain behind bars at the MDC Brooklyn facility as this legal battle unfolds. His next steps are unclear, but his team is expected to continue fighting the charges. Diddy’s sons –including his adopted son, Quincy Brown (singer, Al B Sure’s biological son)– have rallied around him, appearing in court for moral support, hoping for a positive outcome.

As this situation unfolds, we’ll continue to keep you posted.
