On Christmas Day, fans all across the world mourned the shocking death of George Michael. Almost immediately after his death made headlines, there was speculation about whether or not there was foul play involved.

In fact, the singer’s funeral has been delayed all this time, due to a pending investigation launched by local London authorities, in which his boyfriend, Fadi Fawaz, was also questioned twice. However, the most recent reports have confirmed foul play was NOT a factor in George Michael’s untimely death. Cause of Death Revealed:

According to BBC News, George Michael died of natural causes due to heart and liver disease. On Tuesday (Mar. 7, 2017) the coroner released a statement in reference to George Michael’s death and the detailed report further explained the findings that led to his cause of death.

“Inquiries into the death of George Michael have been concluded and the final post-mortem report received,” the coroner’s statement read. “As there is a confirmed natural cause of death, being dilated cardiomyopathy with myocarditis and fatty liver, the investigation is being discontinued and there is no need for an inquest or any further inquiries. No further updates will be provided and the family requests the media and public respect their privacy.”
