now divorced, but they’re still very close friends, and have a teenage daughter named Sophia.

Kadeem also said that he and Cree are still friends today and that there were also some other types of on-screen relationships that were and still are very real in real-life. For example, just like on the show, Kadeem and Darryl Bell, who played his best friend/roommate, “Ron Johnson” on It’s A Different World are like best friends to this very day. Here’s what Kadeem said when asked which of his co-stars he still talks to:

Darryl Bell… with him every day or every other day we talk. He and I have always, from the day we met, argued over our knowledge of sports. There aren’t too many days that go by when him and I don’t talk. Me and Cree, we still talk. I see Lisa every now and then. She lives close by, we’re still neighbors.

Cree is also best friends with one her former co-stars. She and Lisa Bonet are extremely close and Cree’s been quoted as stating that she and Lisa are “like sisters.”
