walk his daughter down the isle. I guess over time he eventually got over it and it’s clear to see that they all love each other.
Now back to Yashi, she sang background on Rebbie’s album, “Yours Faithfully” and was introduced on the big screen at the tender age of 5 in her mother’s hit song and music video, “Centipede”. Yashi is a poetess and musician. Her book Black Daisy in a White Limousine: 77 Poems, a collection of poems from the heart, was released in 2011.
Brown is also a very passionate advocate in the mental health community. Know why? Because she was diagnosed with bipolar disorder. She and her Mom, Rebbie, spoke out a few years ago about Yashi’s diagnosis. They began a campaign called, to bring awareness to the mental illness and erase the stigmas surrounding those with bipolar. Yashi also has current projects in the works with the New York based Breaking the Silence adolescent program endorsed by NAMI. Here’s a video clip of Yashi, her sister and Rebbie talking about that:

She also holds a board position with Long Beach based private school institution, TSJA, which stands for True Social Justice Academy targeting the high school drop-out crisis. Yashi demonstrates how her support system of family, music and poetry are the keys to her success.
