How many of you remember the 90’s rapper/singer, Domino? Although his biggest hit was titled “Getto Jam,” everybody knows the song by its hook. The moment we heard the words, “Here we go, here we go, as the tune starts to bloom, with a phat, phat, phat, chor-re-eus…” blast through the speakers back in the day, we all knew it was time to hit the dance floor. The hit record, which claimed the No. 1 spot on the Billboard charts shortly after it was released, opened the door to great success for Domino. His debut album, which featured his singles “Getto Jam,” “Sweet Potatoe Pie,” and “Long Beach Thang,” skyrocketed to #10 on the Billboard charts. Now, that album is certified Gold by the RIAA.
Over the years, the St. Louis, MO born, Long Beach, Cali bred native has released 9 albums, but although the others didn’t gain the same level of steam as his first release, his skills were still on point and Domino could really teach many of today’s so-called rappers/singers a thing or two in the booth.
Domino Now
These days, aside from looking like he’s barely aged a day since he first hit the scene in 1993, Domino is still in the music game. However, he’s also turned his attention to other efforts and you’ll probably be surprised to see what he’s doing now…
In an effort to still engage with fans, Domino hosts an annual Universal Domino League’s Summer Slam tournament at the Westgate Casino Resort in Las Vegas, NV. At the big event, over 250 professional domino players compete to win their share of $50,000.

In addition to the Universal Domino League, the rapper is also a devoted family man. For those who don’t know, Domino actually has five children. He regularly takes to Facebook with photos of his beautiful family.

He also recently expressed his love for his children on Father’s Day. In an emotional post, Domino shared his reaction to the heartfelt Father’s Day card three of his kids gave him on the big day. Hit records= major life accomplishment. Devoted, unconditionally loving father to his kids= priceless.
So as you can see, it looks like our man, Domino, is doing just fine these days and enjoying life. That’s always a wonderful thing to see…keep doing your thing Domino!
