If you ever need an example of strength, raw talent and triumph look no further than legendary soul singer Tina Turner. Although she retired from performing in 2007 Turner’s career spans generations, and has influenced many singers with her sultry, soulful voice. But just as she has been successful on both stage and screen she’s also endured multiple tragedies in her life. Her turbulent marriage to late blues pioneer Ike Turner became the subject of the Academy Award nominated film What’s Love Got To Do With It starring Angela Bassett and Laurence Fishburne. Though she was very vocal about the abuse she suffered during their marriage, which ended in 1978, there was another tragedy she’s remained very tight lipped about. The death of her son Craig by suicide last year.
A Mother’s Love
It was a very heartbreaking loss for Turner as well as Craig’s family and friends. Last year, we reported on the memorial service where Turner spread Craig’s ashes over the California coast. In a short tweet she spoke briefly by sending a touching message to Craig.
“My saddest moment as a mother. On Thursday, July 19, 2018, I said my final goodbye to my son, Craig Raymond Turner, when I gathered with family and friends to scatter his ashes off the coast of California. He was fifty-nine when he died so tragically, but he will always be my baby.”

It’s almost been a year since Turner has discussed Craig’s death, but now she is speaking out on why she believes he took his own life.
