Janet Jackson has always been a class act and on Mother’s Day she proved, yet again, just how deserving she is of that title. Janet teamed up with Essence to give four mother’s a surprise they least expected. The mothers are all raising their children on their own and their journeys have come with struggles. To celebrate their strength, Janet wanted to show love to the ladies on Mothers Day, with help from Essence. The four moms thought they were simply attending an Essence sponsored Mother’s Day lunch to discuss their parenting. However, Janet will be headlining the 2018 Essence Festival and shocked them with tickets to her show, backstage passes, a pampering makeover, and also a video message to let them know she could not wait to personally meet them.

Needless to say, the moms were beyond surprised as hell over Janet’s beautiful gesture. Like most mothers, the ladies are so used to putting themselves last, for the sake of their wonderful children. So the fact that anyone would put them first, was a feeling they probably hadn’t felt in a long time and it was beautiful. Spotted With Son On Mother’s Day

Janet knows all about the beautiful sacrifices that come with being a mother and she’s loving every second of it. ‘Ms. Pleasure Principle’ was spotted having a good ‘ol time with her lil’ man, Eissa, on Mother’s Day and he’s getting so big now. Her bodyguard stayed close by, as she and her 1 year old spent a chill day in a Beverly Hills park. Apparently, there must have been very few people at the park on Mother’s Day, because in the paparazzi photos that have just surfaced, Janet, her bodyguard, and Eissa were unbothered and were able to peacefully hang out, like they were just one of us regular folks.

Although Janet’s on her way to becoming a single mother – after her divorce from her son’s father, Wissam Al Mana, is finalized- they’ll still be peacefully co-parenting their son. According to several reports, they’ve made that promise to one another.

Just like her brother, Michael, Janet has long been known for helping others through her humanitarian work. After decades of doing her thing in the music game and taking care of so many around her, she’s finally getting a well deserved reward of her own also:

— Janet Jackson’s icon status is being confirmed at the Billboard Awards. The superstar is set to get the Billboard Icon Award at the May 20 ceremony in Las Vegas, hosted by Kelly Clarkson. She’ll also reward fans with a performance on the live telecast, her first televised performance in nine years.
