Back in the day we all loved L.T.D. and we thought they’d stay together forever, giving us more and more classics like “Love Ballad,” “We Both Deserve Each Others Love” and “Concentrate On You.”
Unfortunately that didn’t happen and the lead singer of the group at the time, Jeffrey Osborne, along with his brother, Billy Osborne, abruptly made their exit from the group shortly after L.T.D.’s 1980 album, Shine On hit the market. Jeffrey finally revealed why he and the other members just could not get along:

With songs like “On the Wings of Love,” “You Should Be Mine (The Woo Song)” and “She’s On the Left,” it would be easy to distance himself from the past, but Osborne is well aware of what brought him to the dance.
That ‘what’ would be his former group, L.T.D. Despite a split that “wasn’t very amicable,” Osborne is appreciative of his stint within the collective.
“There were just so many moments with L.T.D. I have to say I didn’t leave on great terms with LTD, but LTD was really my foundation. I learned so much being a part of that group. I have nothing but great memories from the musical side because I learned how to write as a songwriter. I had a chance to write great music and I had all these musicians at my disposal to color the songs and to orchestrate the songs. It was probably the best period of my life, playing with L.T.D. I really did learn a lot and I got to meet so many of these people.”
While touring and hanging out with groups like the O’Jays, Commodores and the Jacksons were highlights, Osborne also remembers the love he and his bandmates received for their classic hit song “Love Ballad.” Nevertheless, Osborne and L.T.D. eventually parted ways. After 40 years forgiveness should over come hateful feelings, get back together, i know from experience, once in a popular group, it’s been 34 years, still no reunion..
Devin I definitely understand where you’re coming from, but as you know, it’s not always that easy for some people to forgive and move on, although I wish it was. I’d love to see L.T.D. reunited…but in the meantime I’ll just keep my fingers crossed and hope for the best. Thanks for joining the convo’ man.

Thank God for recorded audio records to capture music so that people can listen, enjoy & replay wonderful, delightful, great beautiful sounds and music over & over again! 8} And perhaps reminisce the good old times when listening to wonderful music that enlighten our spirit’s! 8)
