This tension between the two songstresses allegedly stemmed from who would sing the first verse of Anita’s 80s signature hit “Sweet Love” during the 2011 taping of VH-1’s Divas Celebrate Soul. Needless to say, things were never resolved and Ledisi was brought in to perform the song five minutes before the show was supposed to start taping.
In response, Baker tweeted: “I begged 4 rehearsals NO..it deserves an arrangement & rehearsal. She went on and on about needing the song not to be edited down to 3 minutes and a special dress rehearsal. She threw in the fact that she recorded the song without a duet partner and just needed some time to go over the song.
Now we heard about Jilly from Philly punching Anita in the face, but Jill says;
So what not our business.

I love them both. Misunderstandings happen, that’s part of life. Much love to Jill & Anita…..

Two awesome artists in their own rights…sometimes they don’t agree on a vision for something they want to to see come about….at the end of the day they are human beings as well as superb songstress’s.
