Our thoughts and prayers are with Joe Jackson and the Jackson family at this time. It’s just been announced that the 89 year old patriarch of the iconic fam’ is battling a terminal disease. To make matters even worse, Jermaine Jackson has now revealed the pain of the family not being allowed to see him.
Joe Jackson’s Illness
It’s now been confirmed, by TMZ, that Joe has terminal cancer and it is unclear how much time he has left, but it looks bleak.
Via TMZ: Family sources tell us, Joe has been battling the illness for some time, but it is at the end stages. We’re told his wife, Katherine, has been at his bedside recently. We’re also told some of Joe’s children and grandchildren have also made the trip to the hospital. We don’t know how much time Joe has left — doctors have talked to the family — but our sources say the cancer cannot be treated.
Jermaine Jackson Reveals Hurt & Anger
Jermaine Jackson spoke to The Daily Mail on Thursday (June 21, 2018) and revealed that some sort of MAJOR family friction is keeping himself; the Jackson family matriarch, Katherine Jackson (88); and some of his siblings away from Joe at this time. Even though they were eventually allowed a brief visit with him.
Jermaine Jackson said: ‘No one knew what was going on – we shouldn’t have to beg, plead, and argue to see our own father, especially at a time like this. We have been hurting. ‘We were not being told where he was and couldn’t get the full picture. Even from the doctor.
My mother was worried sick. ‘He’s very, very frail, he doesn’t have long. The family needs to be by his bedside – that’s our only intention in his final days. … It’s what any family would want, but some people around him think they know better…and they don’t.”
But there’s more. According to Metro UK, the only reason Jermaine and some of his siblings were finally able to see their dad, was the result of an emergency intervention:
Via MetroUK– It was only following an emergency Jackson family meeting, in which they pleaded with the senior Jackson’s manager, Charles Coupet, that the family were able to see him on Tuesday night. Though the family is distraught by the lack of information surrounding him, it appears Joe had given verbal instructions preventing visitors and family members from seeing him or his medical records.
It is believed that his daughters, Robbie and Joh’Vonnie, along with granddaughter Yashi Brown, visited him in Las Vegas, Nevada on Tuesday.
Daily Mail also reported that the sons and daughters of Joe Jackson were all beefin’ about their father for the past four days, as his health rapidly declines and emotions run high.
