As Empire star, Jussie Smollett, hustles to get his life back on track, after that 16 count felony controversy he’s just walked away from scot-free, he’s now struggling to clean up his image. As y’all know, his reportedly concocted staged attack has caused his credibility and previously likable image to take a disastrous hit.
Now, after his charges were mysteriously dropped earlier this week, he’s getting even more backlash from people of all races and walks of life. Many feel that Jussie betrayed their trust and also made it that much harder for ‘real’ victims of hate crimes. Nonetheless, the Empire actor is now demanding that his team do their due diligence in making his persona ‘likable’ to the general public again, according to the latest reports:
Via TMZ: Sources close to the “Empire” star tell TMZ … even though his criminal record’s scrubbed clean, he’s in crisis management mode to repair his public image. We’re told he’s ordered his team to come up with a plan to fix that pronto, because if they don’t … he’s screwed professionally.
…Sources say Jussie’s open to anything that will give him an opportunity to tell his story and convey he’s not the bad guy. Yes … he will stick to the victim narrative.
Word on the Old School curb is that Smollett’s job offers have quickly flatlined. So now he’s reportedly willing to go on a media blitz to try to change all of that:
Via TMZ- We’re told he’s [Jussie Smollett] down for interviews, appearances and going outside of his comfort zone if it means getting a chance to connect with an audience … because he knows if he does nothing, he’ll never get work again.
