Drama, drama… Fam, today, it looks like Jill Scott is the person at the center of controversy. For those who don’t know, the singer is making headlines because she recently filed for divorce from her new husband, Mike Dobson. It’s only been a year since they tied the knot and Jilly is already calling it quits.

According to TMZ, the Neo-Soul singer filed for divorce, citing “irreconcilable differences,” back in September and now details about the split are being made public. In addition to “irreconcilable differences,” Jill also cited “inappropriate marital conduct that such further cohabitation would be unsafe and improper.”

Disturbing Behavior:

It has been reported the singer’s fear for her safety centers around abuse allegations. However, no further details about the situation have been revealed. But Dobson is denying all of the allegations. In fact, he claims he has never “laid a hand on his wife, cheated on her or made her engage in unwanted sexual contact,” reports the publication. Then to make matters worse, he claims he was blindsided by the divorce filing because they’d reportedly agreed to separate and work through their problems. When she filed for divorce, he was shocked.

“She’s an evil woman. I’m telling you. It’s like what Jill Scott wants, Jill Scott gets. People are in her ear, and if someone comes in to challenge the dumb s**t, they made me be the bad guy and that got me outta there. She’s got issues. There’s no men in that family, there’s only women. And when a man comes in, it’s like a challenge. She’s made other men look bad, but I’m not the one. I said (to her) ‘you’ve met your match’. She likes to have men that she can control. You’re not gonna control me. What’s right is right, and what’s wrong is wrong.”

A Nasty Divorce Battle:

While many estranged couples are able to go their separate ways without any problems, unfortunately, it doesn’t seem like things will be that easy for Jill. Apparently, she’s not only turning heads. Her soon-t0-be ex-husband also has a thing or two to say and none of it is good. In fact, Dobson went on to share details about the problems he faced with his estranged wife. He also promised to “fight dirty” if she decides to publicly slam him. “She likes to emasculate men – that’s her problem. I told her, she’s from Philly, but I’m from New York, and if you want to try to disgrace me, try to slander me, I can fight dirty.”

Jill Scott and Mike Dobson tied the knot in July of 2016 in a private ceremony in Memphis, TN. They were married just 15 months before the divorce filing. It definitely doesn’t look like this situation will be resolved easily but best of luck to Jill Scott.
