Kelly Price and her ex, Jeffrey Rolle Sr., decided to call it quits in 2015, after 23+ years of marriage. Like many newly divorcees, Ms. Price wasn’t looking for love or any type of long-term commitment. For a while she was cool with living by the tune of Cameo’s  lyrics: “I’m Living the single, single, single…LIFE.” But surprisingly, someone else ultimately managed to capture her heart. During an interview with The Jasmine Brand, Kelly shared details about her new boo-thang, Terrell Babers, a 19-year-Navy veteran.

Their Budding Romance:

For the past few months, Kelly has shared photos of the mystery man and many fans have speculated about the nature of their relationship. Now, Kelly is opening up about it all. Things are heating up between the her and her new man. Kelly admitted she was completely happy with being single and dating casually, but things took an unexpected, but refreshing, turn.

The “Heartbreak Hotel” singer has confirmed there’s nothing casual about her relationship with Terrell. The two are, indeed, in a committed relationship.

Kelly P: “I am excited about my relationship with Terrell. I wasn’t looking for love. Neither of us was. I’d been in the same relationship since I was 16. We were both dating other people when we met. I was having a GREAT time dating, being single and having ‘suitors’ after nearly 24 years of marriage.”

From Friends To Lovers:

Kelly went on to explain how the relationship evolved over time. Their friendship led to the birth of an amazing bond and they both decided to take a chance with going to the next level:

“We were friends first and developed an incredible bond inside of that friendship and, at some point, it changed for both of us. It was unexpected but we both knew that something changed so we decided to give love with a friend a chance to thrive. I’m glad we did.”
