Kelly Price has sparked a social media firestorm with her latest blunder at the Indiana Black Gospel Expo. According to Bossip, Kelly was invited to sing at the event and it’s probably safe to say attendees were expecting a gospel song or some type of religious number. But, Kelly must not have gotten the memo about the event because she decided to sing “As We Lay”.
Although the affair anthem is a classic to old schoolers, it probably wasn’t what people expected to hear at the gospel expo. Now, of course, Kelly Price is the face of numerous memes and she’s unfortunately the butt of many jokes today.
Here’s a few of the memes circulating on social media:

Who told Kelly Price, a song about consensual infidelity would be a good choice at a gospel expo? pic.twitter.com/lwf5i9AVia

So, what does Kelly Price have to say about all of the chatter? As expected, she’s quite ticked and she doesn’t appreciate the criticism. Apparently, Kelly really didn’t get the memo. She took to Twitter and revealed she was actually unaware that she’d be singing on a gospel stage. The person who booked her has also released a statement explaining the epic blunder.

Talk about awkward! Hopefully, fans can just understand that this one was a complete oversight. But, unfortunately the damage has already been done, because Internet memes are forever.
