Monday (6-5-17) marked the beginning of Bill Cosby’s rape trial. As expected, the Cosby Show creator made headlines when he arrived at the Montgomery County Courthouse in Norristown, Pennsylvania but what really turned heads was his support system. Although Bill didn’t have much family support there was one actress who stood by his side – former Cosby Show star, Keshia Knight-Pulliam.
Defending Bill:
When the opening day of the trial concluded, Keshia stopped for a brief interview with Good Morning America. When asked why she chose to support the famed comedian/actor, she wasted no time offering a response, according to the Huffington Post. “It was really important for me to show my support to Mr. Cosby,” she explained. “At the end of the day, it’s the jury’s job to discern the truth.”
As expected, Bill Cosby has pleaded not guilty to the drug and rape allegations and other Cosby Show stars like Phylicia Rashad and Malcolm-Jamal Warner have also shared opinions in defense of Bill.
But, yesterday Keshia went on to explain why it’s important not judge people. “It’s easy to be supportive when things are great, when things are good. Everyone goes through adversity. Everyone’s human. It’s not my job to decide guilt or innocence.”

The Backlash:
Keshia’s latest statement follows backlash she faced yesterday after reports surfaced about her support of Bill Cosby. Although he maintains his innocence, many fans aren’t so sure he’s worth defending. Since there are more than 30 women accusing Bill of committing the same crime, many fans wonder if he’s really innocent. Unfortunately, lots of people argue that it seems farfetched that such a staggering number of women would lie on an old man.
Twitter wasted no time responding once photos of Keshia and Bill surfaced. The two walked arm-in-arm into the courthouse together. Needless to say, Keshia was slammed by quite a few Twitter users and many of the comments were quite brash.
