When it comes to Tupac Shakur’s prison break-up letter, Madonna has just gotten her face cracked, but her former friend is about to come up BIG time…to the tune of approximately over $100,000.00!

Why She Was Denied…

On Tuesday, June 4, 2019, Madonna received the news. After a lengthy 2-year court battle, one court loss and one appeal later, a New York State Appeals Court has denied Madonna’s legal request to block and/or sue her ex-friend and art consultant, Darlene Lutz, nor the auction website Darlene consigned the Tupac love letter to, GottaHaveRockandRoll.com.

In July 2017, Madonna first won a court ruling to block the auctioning off of Tupac’s break-up letter to her. By 2018, Darlene filed an appeal and won, after the court found that Madonna actually signed off on a deal she’d brokered with Darlene to end a nasty dispute between them in 2004. In that deal, Darlene paid Madonna cash and in return, Madonna agreed to never legally go after her again.

Nonetheless, Madonna still fought like hell to not have the contents of Tupac’s break-up letter and the intimate details between them sold publicly. Therefore, she filed a new appeal and here we are today. In a 5-0 ruling, the appellate court court agrees that Madonna no longer has a right to sue, nor block the auction, due to her 2004 signed agreement.
