Oprah Winfrey and Stedman Graham have been together for many years. But, because of their longstanding relationship, many people assume Stedman, like Oprah, has never been married and has no children. However, he actually has one daughter – Wendy Graham, 47, whom he had with his ex-wife, Glenda.

Yep, you read that right, Stedman was in fact married prior to dating Oprah. He and Glenda married in 1974, Wendy was born in 1975, and their marriage didn’t last too long after that. Unfortunately though, years later, their daughter, Wendy, was faced with a major, unexpected tragedy that no one should have to endure…

In 2002, it seemed Wendy was well on her way to the “happily ever after” fairytale ending most women dream about. She was engaged to Sherman Galbreath when tragedy struck while they were on vacation in the Virgin Islands. Wendy was teaching Sherman to swim when things took an unexpected turn for the worst and Sherman drowned. According to The Virgin Islands Daily News, the detailed circumstances surrounding Sherman’s passing remain unclear, but the accident reportedly occurred while he was learning to swim.

Stedman Helped Daughter After Tragedy

Within hours of the horrific disaster, Stedman arrived in the Virgin Islands by jet, to rescue his daughter. Needless to say, the devastating tragedy was quite difficult for Wendy to recover from, but things are quite different these days.

Where Stedman’s Daughter Is Now

Wendy is now a married woman! According to the Daily Mail, she and Bradley Kerwin Greene tied the knot in March of 2015, when Wendy was 40 and Bradley was 27. However, that’s not all. She’s also made Stedman a grandfather. That’s right, Stedman and Oprah are now grandparents! Just three months after the wedding, Wendy and Bradley welcomed a beautiful baby girl named, Cadence.

An inside source close to Wendy shared details about the amazing changes that have occurred and how her life has turned around. “It took a long time but Wendy finally met a nice guy after moving to Chicago a few years ago…”

Wendy’s stepfather, Paul Lusk, told this to Daily Mail soon after Cadence was born:

“Glenda [Wendy’s mom] is very happy and looking forward to seeing her new granddaughter,” Wendy’s stepfather Paul told Daily Mail Online. She’s planning an August visit to Chicago, where the new family live. “Wendy is doing well but she won’t be a stay-at-home mother and housewife because she and Bradley have big plans for their future so she will probably be going back to work in August. Everyone is very happy for them, they are a wonderful family.”

Bradley is an engineer from Trinidad. Wendy reportedly works for Stedman’s marketing and management fir. prior to working with her Pops, it was also reported that Wendy worked for Oprah’s Harpo Productions.

It’s extremely sad that Wendy’s prior fiancee’ lost his life and that Wendy had to live through such a traumatic situation.
