After  Mary J. Blige filed for divorce from her husband of 12 years, Kendu Isaacs, last month (July), she also fired him as her manager, a position he’d held for years. Rumors as to what sparked Mary’s decision started flying- folks were wondering if Kendu caused Mary J.’s recent tax problems or if he was the reason her non-profit organization was accused of defaulting on loans.

Kendu and Mary have been quite on the matter, until now. Kendu took to Instagram to reply to a fan who wanted to know what he’d done to make Mary J. leave him and this is how he responded:

So as you can see, Kendu says he simply loved and still loves his wife…according to him, that’s all he ‘did to her.’

Thursday (8-21) was the first time he’s posted anything on Instagram in 22 weeks and he’s clearly going through some things because he posted a photo of he and Mary J. with the hashtag “#TBT”…a clear indication that he’s ‘reminiscing on the love they had.’ 

Hopefully his prayers are answered and Mary J. gives him a second chance, because from the looks of it, he made her the happiest she’d ever been as for as relationships go (K.C. of Jodeci doesn’t count because true, he and Mary were in love, but were admittedly too toxic for each other during their 90’s romance).

We’ll keep our fingers crossed for Kendu though and in the meantime we’ll be jammin’ to one of Mary J.’s classic break-up songs. No offense Kendu, but we couldn’t resist…
