By now, everyone has probably heard about the “scathing rape and drugging” allegations involving Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kandi Burruss, her husband Todd Tucker, and Kandi’s co-star Porsha Williams. The couple had been accused of raping and drugging Porsha inside their so-called “sex dungeon.”
Needless to say, Kandi & Todd faced all kinds of backlash from fans everywhere who were givin’ them the side eye. They had been called everything but children of God, but now they’re apparently turning a negative, disheartening situation into a big positive.
From Sex Scandal To Big Event:
According to Bossip, Kandi and Todd have taken the sex dungeon scandal and run with it. Over the weekend, Kandi took to Instagram with an interesting announcement about a major one-night event scheduled for October 12th in Atlanta. Tickets to Kandi’s Burlesque show and dungeon party are now on sale.
The famed singer/reality star posted a video with a caption that read, “I decided to make the dungeon come to life for One Night Only on Oct. 12th in Atlanta & I’m inviting everybody!!! It’s a Burlesque show/Dungeon Party. Tickets are limited so GET THEM NOW at KandiOnline.com! Fans’ Reaction:
In less than three days, Kandi’s clip has received nearly one million views and more than 9,000 fans have commented to share their reaction to the dungeon idea. Most agree it’s a brilliant way to turn a negative situation into somethin’ profitable and positive. Most fans commended Kandi for her work ethic and entrepreneurial skills.
One fan wrote, “She’s a top-notch entrepreneur. More entertainers should follow suit so they don’t go broke. She never has to make music again.” Another agreed, “Why are you such a creative genius? You took a negative and turned it into something positive and securing that bag!
“Kandi doesn’t play about her paper…its not about growing up. She’s just capitalizing on the situation. That’s why her pockets been deep and will stay that way.”
Past Drama:
The latest comes after a string of damning reports about Kandi and Todd. At the time of the whole sex dungeon scandal, fans immediately began trolling Kandi and Todd, accusing them of all kinds of deplorable acts. But Phaedra Parks later admitted to spreading the vicious rumors. Despite Phaedra’s confession, the damage had already been done. Kandi previously explained the type of heigtened criticism she’d been subjected to as a result of Phaedra’s lies.
“Do y’all know people was under my comments saying #KandiAKABillCosby? Do you think that s— is f—— cool?” Burruss said during the reunion last year, getting so angry that she began crying. “Y’all know how much I care about my business and my brand. We throw shade, whatever. But drugs? … Drugging somebody while drinking and taking them home is rape. Y’all accused me of being a f—ing rapist. That is crazy.”
Now, more than a year after that scandal, it seemed Kandi and Porsha were back on amicable terms, but apparently now that’s changed. According to Atlanta Black Star, Kandi has reportedly unfollowed Porsha on social media. For fans, Kandi’s move came as a bit of a surprise because earlier this summer it seemed they were headed in a positive direction. During a recent interview this summer, Kandi explained how they were able to move forward.
“The Lord worked on me,” Kandi told The Daily Pop in July of what led her and Williams to put the past behind them. “I really was tired of all the drama from the past seasons and I feel like she was tired of it too. I feel like we both really wanna move forward … In this situation, I honestly felt like, OK, we are genuinely having a good time. We should be able to be cool.”
Even with all the drama, it doesn’t seem to have stopped Kandi’s bankroll because the dollars are still comin’ in. Kudos to Kandi and Todd!
